We are pleased to report another resounding victory for the Under 15 boys who beat Bekshire by 7 wickets at KCCC Beckenham on Sunday in the ECB Cup.

Berkshire won the toss and elected to bat, scoring 151 for 5 from their 50 overs.  D. Lincoln 39 not out and L. Glover 34 not out were the best of the batters.  Pick of the Kent bowling was Oli Robinson with 10-1-21-1 and skipper Tom Coldman with 10-3-15-1.

In reply, Kent rallied well after the loss of 2 early wickets, ending up with 154 for 3 off 38.3 overs. Laurence Hills with a very steady 69 not out and Oli Robinson with 58 off 51 balls caused the majority of the damage.

Surrey will provide the opposition this Sunday in the same competition, 11.00 start at Reed School, Cobham.

Kent Under 15s managed a hard fought draw after restricting the Yorkshire team to a respectable 202 from 57 overs, in a game being played to the ECB Championship rules.

After winning the toss Yorkshire set off at a good pace, however, regular wickets and some miserly bowling by Speller helped to keep a reign on the run rate. The highlight of the Yorkshire innings was 64 by T. Kohler-Cadmore, who retired hurt.

In reply, Kent stuttered to a final total of 149 from their 48 overs. The game ended in the gloom, with only one wicket falling in the last 16 overs. James Lilley marshalled a rearguard to earn the draw, ending on 41 not out, ably supported by a patient Tunbull who ended 0 not out from 27 balls.

The game was seen as a worthwhile exercise by both counties, especially by Kent as it allowed for an experimental batting order and provided stiff opposition prior to the ECB Championship play-off finals in Leicestershire later this month (24-26 August at Kibwoth), where Kent are aiming to defend their trophy won at Oundle last year. Opposition for Kent here will be provided by Notts, Lancashire and Wales.
