Match report from Maria Pape
Kent U13 travelled to Hertfordshire to play their second match of the LV Championship league Southeast and London Division on Sunday 29th June.
Kent lost the toss and was put in to bat by Hertfordshire. Kent openers shared a first wicket partnership of 107 runs with Heather McHale 35 and Charlotte Pape 44. Pape was joined by Genevieve Master but fell shortly after the drinks break.
Olivia Price and Grace Gibbs took the game in control and a massive total of 193 with Price getting out on the 4th ball of the last over for 45.
Kent opening bowler Beth Marsh removed one of the Hertfordshire openers with the 5th ball of the first over for 0. Excellent fielding and tight bowling put Hertfordshire under pressure and they found it extremely difficult to get some runs and kept losing wickets regularly.
Hertfordshire were all out in the 21st over scoring just 40. Pick of the bowlers for Kent were Anna Healey with 2-2 and Nia Lewes with 2-11.
