News of the Lord's Taverners Equipment scheme for clubs and schools
The Lord’s Taverners is a Charity, founded in and based upon cricket, that helps young people, particularly those with social, environmental, physical or mental disadvantages, to enjoy cricket and other sporting and leisure activities.
The Taverner’s 2008 Cricket Equipment is now available for qualifying Clubs and Schools and an application form is attached with everything explained on there.
Please note that charges have been introduced for the hard ball bags at £25 each but this is still a bargain as actual costs are between £150 - £200 approx per bag.
Kwik Cricket equipment is still available free of charge.
Inter Cricket is not currently available; however, it is hoped that a new contract can be negotiated later in the year. The Inter Cricket equipment will also remain free of charge.
Please do note that applications will not be accepted from clubs or schools involved in the Chance to shine programme.
The Lord’s Taverners has already agreed to give £1million over a five-year period to support the Chance to shine campaign and after lengthy discussions between The Lord’s Taverners and Chance to shine, it has been agreed that any clubs and schools taking part in their programme will not be eligible to apply to either The Lord’s Taverners Cricket Equipment Scheme or the Grant Aid Scheme for Non-Turf Pitches / Batting Ends / Nets, in the same year.
Schools and clubs participating in the programme will have the opportunity to purchase Chance to shine equipment and clothing at a competitive rate. Details on how to do this will be communicated directly to clubs and schools in March 2008.
The Lord’s Taverners has also re-vamped its website and both the equipment scheme and NTP scheme applications for 2008 are available to download at www.lordstaverners.org
