ECB Coach Education is changing!

From September 2013 the ECB Coach Education Programme will be delivered in a revised format and the current courses will no longer exist. The KCB are currently working together with the ECB and the Kent tutor workforce to roll out the new coach education courses this Autumn. For information on the new course structure please see the ECB documents 'Become the Best Coach You Can Be' and 'Become a Qualified Coach'. A map of the new course structures can also be viewed by looking at the coach education map. The KCB will provide all clubs in Kent and members of the Kent Coaches Association with further details of the new courses and the Coach Education Programme as soon as it becomes available. It will also be published on our website.

There are 2 safeguarding courses 

Safeguarding and Protecting Children (SPC) 

Who Should Attend:  Coaches and Club Welfare Officers must attend one every 3 years.

Others in your club are welcome to book a place, particularly if their role includes safeguarding (eg Team Managers, Team Captains, Supervisors etc).  Courses are arranged by Kent Cricket Board throughout the year, mostly over the Winter months.

SPC - 29th May 2013 - Civic Offices, Bexley, 6.30-9.30pm

Safe Hands

Who Should Attend:  Club Welfare Officers must attend one every 3 years.  (Refreshers available throughout the year if you have attended a Safe Hands course before).  These courses are only for CWOs.

We run 3 hour Emergency First Aid Courses, which are a requirement for all coaches. Though these are open to everyone and we encourage clubs to have multiple First Aiders within their membership.

Due to high demand, we have released some further SPC dates:

First Aid - 29th April 2013, Civic Offices, Bexley, 6.30-9.30pm*

First Aid - 23rd May 2013, Addington Cricket Club, 6.30-9.30pm*

*Please note that First Aid courses are limited to 16 places only.

With more Cricket being played throughout the county, the demand for Umpires and Scorers has never been higher. We try to offer both full, ECB recognised courses for both Umpires and Scorers as well as short, introductory courses that are perfect for keen volunteers.
