Location is Canterbury at the Simon Langton School for Boys on March 24th and 25th and March 31st and 1st April 2012 with the assessment on 8th July.

In support of that course there is a First Aid Course, also at Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys on 27th March 2012 and the Safeguarding and Protecting Children Course will be at the St. Lawrence Ground the following day, 28th March.

ALSO Spaces are still available on the UKCC 1 Courses taking place at Sittingbourne in February and Canterbury in March.

We must call your attention to the first note which says:  

The ECB will be introducing new courses due to start from September 2013. Currently we are unsure what these will look like or consist but the whole Coach Education structure will change.

Other than necessary changes to these courses, Kent Cricket Board will NOT be arranging any more outside those detailed in the document.

The Cricket Coaching Mat is a tried and tested piece of coaching equipment that quickly teaches youngsters to bat better.

Ironically, it is wayward bowling that makes it difficult to teach youngsters to bat!  How can you coach the cover drive when the first ball flies down the leg side, the next one is a beamer and the third bounces twice!!  Regular and consistent feed is needed and this is why the coaching mat works so well.  It works brilliantly in the back garden for a youngster wanting to raise their game to the next level.  Similarly it is superb in both a school and club setting as it allows players to improve their techniques whilst developing match play skills at the same time.

This year both will be held at Kent County Cricket Club, St Lawrence Ground, on 19th and 20th November.

On 19th November the theme of the day is “From Club to County”.  Amongst the individual articles on the day will be from KCB’s Ray Willis and Jason Weaver as well as an item from Paul Farbrace, Director of Cricket at Kent and Simon Willis, Academy Director at Kent.

Kent Cricket Board’s Coaches Association need your nominations for coaches who you feel have been outstanding!

Please notify us of coaches that you feel are worthy of an award (i.e. those that have contributed something special to cricket) and we will contact them for further detail, and invite them to a day’s hospitality on the 19th August 2011 at the St Lawrence Ground. There will then be a selection process to nominate for the national Sky Sports Coach Awards.

The 3 categories for nominations are as follows:

•    Outstanding Coaching Achievement
•    Outstanding Contribution & Services to Cricket Coaching
•    Young Coach of the Year

Kent Coaching e-news, April 2011

All joking aside, if you as a coach, want to work in a School either for your Club, KCB, Chance to shine or even for yourself, this course is mandatory.

Demand for the course has been high and so we’ve now arranged for another to take place on Sunday 27th April 2008 at Kent College, Whitstable Road in Canterbury.
