Bromley District
The Bromley District has its own website which can be accessed by clicking here.
Bromley District works in partnership with the Kent Cricket Board and Bromley Mytime to increase the number of people playing cricket and to improve the overall standard across the Borough. We are based at the Kent County Cricket Club on Worsley Bridge Road, Beckenham.
Bromley District is responsible for cricket coaching and development within the borough and runs open and representative courses, schools courses for both boys and girls including special needs, and for developing close links between schools and clubs. Festivals and competitions are organised throughout the year for all ages. We also assist coaches with their personal development.
Representatives from local clubs junior sections, schools, coaches, officials, and Bromley Mytime have formed the Bromley District Development Group (BDDG). The group is maintaining a District Development Plan for cricket in Bromley.

BOCA Win Indoor League
BOCA Sports won the Kent Metropolitan indoor 6-a-side league for the second year running. The league has been running since 1976 and has been won by Fledglings and Hayes amongst others. The league was held at a new venue - Bishops Justus C of E School which proved to be ideal for this competition.
After losing in the semi finals of the cup, BOCA were determined to retain their indoor league crown. BOCA had a good wins against BWCOL, Bromley Town, Catford Cyphers and Wickham Park. The game against Blackheath was always likely to be the league decider. Blackheath, having won the toss, reached 30-0 after 2 overs. BOCA bowlers managed to restrict Blackheath to 95-5. BOCA seemed to be comfortable at 74-1 off 7 overs, but were reduced to 91-5 with 3 balls to spare. A 4 saw them home in a tense game.
In the play-offs on the last weekend, BOCA batted 1st against Blackheath. Joe Jemmotte was run out by Chris Willetts off the first ball. BOCA were reduced to 25-5 off 5 overs. BOCA’s captain Julian Massiah (39) was finally out caught off a leading edge with the score on 62. This was BOCA’s lowest league score for 5 years. Blackheath’s young batsmen cruised home in 10th over winning by 4 wickets. However, BOCA had done enough in the play-offs to retain the trophy.
Thanks are recorded especially to Peter Scorer for all his help in the league this year.

London Youth Games
Bromley girls came 3rd in the girls cricket providing a solid start to the 2008 Games for Bromley Borough.
In the quarter final they beat Hillingdon fairly comfortably after losing the wicket of an injured Kathrine Long (Kent U13) early on, who battled on in the game with a fractured arm. Lettie Hadley (Kent U13) and Lottie Bryan (Kent U13) batted well and helped to give us a respectable score. Bromley bowled well with Lettie taking 3 wickets off 7 balls.
In the Semi-final the girls were drawn against Merton - the team they played in the tightly fought final of last year and were set a total of 86. Bromley lost early wickets but got near enough to the total for Georgina Luff, who was playing competitive cricket for the first time, needing 5 off the last ball. A magnificent attempt was disappointingly caught. The girls are looking forward to a possible rematch against Merton next year and want to bring back the trophy to Bromley.
