<P>I would like to bring you all up to speed with what has been happening within the last few months here at the Board. </P>
<P>I have put together a similar entry to last time and have collated my progress since May 1<SUP>st</SUP> to the end of July 2008. </P>
<P><strong>Progress since 1 May 2008 </strong></P>
<P>· FCCC Certificate now completed – delivered to all Focus Clubs in the West &amp; Met areas of Kent </P>
<P>· Orpington CC - Clubmark – the Clubmark Officer at the club has been on his honeymoon and still not had the file sent to me! I am requesting that Tim Nicholls writes to the club re CCDF Funding </P>
<P>· SIS GRANT bids – Horton Kirby and Hartley Country Club are at the final stages of approval and now sit with Tim Nicholls at ECB </P>
<P>· SIS INTEREST FREE LOAN bids – Linden Park and Cobham are also at the final stages of approval and also sit with Tim Nicholls </P>
<P>· Go Green AVCC have been offered £10k through initiative </P>
<P>· C2S Meeting with Steve Peyman to discuss candidates for next year </P>
<P>· C2S schemes nearing completion for this year - Lydia Greenway has been to many festivals and has coached alongside club’s coaches in schools and have had great reports and stories back from schools – some reports have been published on the KCB website as and when they came in </P>
<P>· Meeting with Lewisham Council, Mike Gatting, Envirowork to discuss a re-generation project in Lewisham which would see 3 squares available for cricket by 2009 </P>
<P>· Had a meeting with Kemsing CC and Tony Rose to discuss future development and girls cricket set up </P>
<P>· Bexleyheath Clubmark File update on where they are and to set realistic timelines </P>
<P>· Atended the National Cricket Day at Langley Girls School – initiative through C2S </P>
<P>· T/wells CC Clubmark Evidence File Check </P>
<P>· Attended T/wells Cricket Week for the first time </P>
<P>· Belvedere CC – met with a small committee re Clubmark and talked through aims and objectives and then came up with an action plan </P>
<P>· Cricket 4 Change “Hit the Top” County Matches at Wallington in Surrey – rained off on Tuesday 27<SUP>th</SUP> but some play on 28<SUP>th</SUP> and 29<SUP>th</SUP> May. The Tournament has been re-scheduled though for mid July </P>
<P>· Holmesdale CC – Clubmark Evidence File check and came up with action plan for completion and then set a date for site visit </P>
<P>· Visited Plaxtol CC with Peter Robinson to discuss the ground, lease, Clubmark, funding – general club meeting </P>
<P>· Cobham CC – Clubmark Evidence File check </P>
<P>· Bromley Common – meeting re potential second ground – lease from Rookery Estates </P>
<P>· Hayesbrook School – meeting to discuss new sports facilties and the potential usage from the district </P>
<P>· Attended Clubs Committe Meeting </P>
<P>· Marley Site visit with Peter Robinson Tim Nicholls and Dave Leighton etc re Rain Water Harvesting initiative for clubs </P>
<P>· Development Plan Support Days - DPSDs first one in June went well and the next is on Fri 11<SUP>th</SUP> July </P>
<P>· Regional Meeting in Herts – 2 days </P>
<P>· Bromley Common – pitch inspection on new proposed 2<SUP>nd</SUP> ground (next door to current ground) with Peter Robinson and Bromley Common Committee </P>
<P>· T/Wells Site Visit </P>
<P>· Met with Old Colf’s – Andy Pye to see the set up, junior sessions, discussion on health and safety and emergency access – general meeting </P>
<P>· Hayes Kwik Cricket Festival with Lydia and ASDS </P>
<P>· MLD and SLD Kwik Cricket Festivals – helped Heidi organise and run these on the day </P>
<P>· Re-generation Project for Lewisham – Jamie attended in my absence – positive meeting and funding available through Lords Tavs etc and Mike Gatting is getting right behind it </P>
<P>· Clubmark Annual Healthchecks still rolling in </P>
<P>· Clubmark Re-accreditation process with T/wells, Bromley Common, Cobham, Holmesdale, Old Wilsonians and Castle Hill all very near completion – minor things to complete their end </P>

<P>It has been sometime since I last posted a blog on the KCB website and apologies. Since my last entry, it has been an extremely busy time for all involved with cricket. </P>
<P>I would like to bring you all up to speed with what has been happening within the last six months here at the Board. </P>
<P>I have put together a similar entry to last time and have collated my progress since February 1<SUP>st</SUP> to the end of May 2008: - </P>
<P>· FCCC Certificate now completed - an awards style event to be arranged </P>
<P>· Beckenham &amp; Sydenham CC Clubmark Accredited - sending info to Hannah for Certificate etc </P>

<P>· Signed MoU with Cricket for Change to work towards future clubs who can accommodate start up clubs for disabilities </P>
<P>· Hertford CC - Natwest Cricketforce 2008 opener - got my hands dirty! </P>
<P>· Natwest Cricketforce - visited AVCC, Blue Bell Hill and Bearsted over the weekend </P>
<P>· Clubmark Officer Meeting - to discuss the way forward of how to communicate changes to Clubmark Accreditation </P>
<P>· Lords with Cricket for Change - the launch of &#8220;Hit the Top&#8221; initiative </P>
<P>· NGB Event organised by Pro Active East - at the Exel Centre </P>
<P>· Direct Build Services Meeting with Ken Slater at the old Hayes Country Club site - to discuss a new cricket square and facilities with DBS putting up funding to support this!!! Very exciting news!!! </P>

]]></content:encoded></rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.kentcricketboard.co.uk/andys-blog/2007/12/12/my-time-has-come.html"><rss:title>My time has come!</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.kentcricketboard.co.uk/andys-blog/2007/12/12/my-time-has-come.html</rss:link><dc:creator>Andy Griffiths</dc:creator><dc:date>2007-12-12T17:09:07Z</dc:date><dc:subject></dc:subject><content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Afternoon all.&nbsp; The time has come for me to enter my first blog on the KCB website.&nbsp; What do I write?&nbsp; Well, here goes&#8230;..</p><p>I have been in post since November 1st 2007 and hasn&#8217;t time flown!?&nbsp; I have settled in quickly to the daily routine of office life at KCB. 1 - Open up the office, 2- Put the kettle on, 3 - Make sure heaters on full blast&nbsp;for Clair and Heidi (they do like a moan when its cold!) and 4 - Make sure Magic FM is playing softly in the background for Clair (ok I turn it up loud to drown out her telephone conversations - she is loud!).&nbsp; Note to self - must buy some head phones on saturday!</p><p>I have been out and about all over West Kent and into the Metropolitan areas to meet the DDO&#8217;s (District Development Officers) for the 8 districts under my umbrella.&nbsp; My objective in the initial meetings was to do some fact finding about how they felt about the current District Structure and what advice they could give me in my new role.&nbsp; Thank you to Sully, Ross, Chris, Ken, Tony, Ros, Nick and particularly Peter who has been a real help in my first month at the Board.</p><p>The next step was to meet and find out about our new team.&nbsp; I&#8217;ll leave that discussion for another blog another time!</p><p>Just to let you all know I have been busy and not just listening to Magic FM in the office.&nbsp; Meetings galore with Clubs, DDO&#8217;s, CSPs, SSOs and have been to several interesting DDG Meetings already.</p><p>Anyway I must dash got a meeting this evening to attend - highly confidential of course.&nbsp; Bye for now.</p><p>AG</p>
