I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting new faces in the cricketing world.&nbsp; A big thank you to all those who have helped me along the way and to those people who have taken time out of their social lives to have a club meeting with me.&nbsp; Cheers!</strong></p><p><strong>To say that lots of things have happened/changed over the last few months is an under statement.&nbsp; I have listed below in no particular order various things that I have been working on in the West &amp; Met areas of Kent: -</strong></p><p><strong><u>Progress since 1 November 2007 </u></strong></p><ul><li>FCCC announcement; </li><li>Met with KSDU and had response re MoU; </li><li>KASDO meeting; </li><li>County Sport Partnership seminars &ndash; Pro Active South and East; </li><li>Pro Actives signed MoU; </li><li>Visited Valence School to see demo on Table Cricket; </li><li>Attended DDG meetings in Lewisham and T/wells; </li><li>KCB GA Meeting; </li><li>SIS Bids; </li><li>C2S sign up of clubs; </li><li>Clubmark Development Team Meeting at Canterbury; </li><li>Regional Meeting in Loughton, Essex; </li><li>Clubmark Training at Essex C C; </li><li>Clubs Met FCCCs x 15; </li><li>FCCCs to be seen by end of Feb x 3; </li><li>Old G&rsquo;s new Junior Section; </li><li>Bromley C C &ndash; re Clubmark; </li><li>Dartford C C &ndash; re Clubmark, FCCC and CBMS; </li><li>Gravesend C C &ndash; financial future, Clubmark etc; </li><li>Also met with Old Colfeians and Castle Hill. </li><li>Distrcist Met all 8 DDO&rsquo;s and got feedback on each district and the way it works; </li><li>DDO Meeting at AVCC; </li><li>Preparing DDO Manual. </li><li>Disability meeting in Canterbury &ndash; potential Table Cricket demo at Detling Showground in partnership with Beyond Boudaries; </li><li>KCB Meeting &ndash; intro to the board; </li><li>Envirowork communication with Peter Ranken and Pete Ackerley; </li><li>Langley School &ndash; potential indoor facility. </li></ul><p><strong><u>Objectives to 30 April 2008 </u></strong></p><ul><li>FCCC Certificate to clubs; </li><li>Letter to non FCCC clubs &ldquo;how great it is&rdquo; and list the current clubs; </li><li>Visit remaining FCCC&#8217;s by end of Feb; </li><li>Southborough Clubmark meeting; </li><li>Orpington, Beckenham &amp; Sydenham and Dartford C C Clubmark sign off; </li><li>Gravesend - help with Development Plan, CBMS and Clubmark File;</li><li>The Mote - joint effort with Clair G to help them with their Development Plan etc;</li><li>CBMS entry day &ndash; first one in April; </li><li>Clubmark Annual Healthchecks must be carried out and re-accreditations; </li><li>Clubmark Officer training; </li><li>Tennure mapping exercise; </li><li>Extended Activities bids/Olympic bid from an NGB </li><li>School per district mapping exercise; </li><li>Monitor SIS bids; </li><li>Helps clubs with Development Plans; </li><li>Visit more DDG Meetings; </li><li>Sevenoaks DDG &ndash; help TR set up; </li><li>Lewisham club on board &ndash; Catford and Cyphers; </li><li>DDO Manual; </li><li>C2S implementation and monitor situation</li><li>Club afiliation fees -&nbsp;promote to all clubs in the West &amp; Met areas of Kent; </li><li>Set next DDO Meeting; </li></ul><p>As you have read above there are lots and lots of things going on in the West &amp; ]]></content></entry><entry><title>My time has come!</title><id>http://www.kentcricketboard.co.uk/andys-blog/2007/12/12/my-time-has-come.html</id><link rel="alternate" type="text/html" href="http://www.kentcricketboard.co.uk/andys-blog/2007/12/12/my-time-has-come.html"/><author><name>Andy Griffiths</name></author><published>2007-12-12T17:09:07Z</published><updated>2007-12-12T17:09:07Z</updated><content type="html" xml:lang="en-GB"><![CDATA[<p>Afternoon all.&nbsp; The time has come for me to enter my first blog on the KCB website.&nbsp; What do I write?&nbsp; Well, here goes&#8230;..</p><p>I have been in post since November 1st 2007 and hasn&#8217;t time flown!?&nbsp; I have settled in quickly to the daily routine of office life at KCB. 1 - Open up the office, 2- Put the kettle on, 3 - Make sure heaters on full blast&nbsp;for Clair and Heidi (they do like a moan when its cold!) and 4 - Make sure Magic FM is playing softly in the background for Clair (ok I turn it up loud to drown out her telephone conversations - she is loud!).&nbsp; Note to self - must buy some head phones on saturday!</p><p>I have been out and about all over West Kent and into the Metropolitan areas to meet the DDO&#8217;s (District Development Officers) for the 8 districts under my umbrella.&nbsp; My objective in the initial meetings was to do some fact finding about how they felt about the current District Structure and what advice they could give me in my new role.&nbsp; Thank you to Sully, Ross, Chris, Ken, Tony, Ros, Nick and particularly Peter who has been a real help in my first month at the Board.</p><p>The next step was to meet and find out about our new team.&nbsp; I&#8217;ll leave that discussion for another blog another time!</p><p>Just to let you all know I have been busy and not just listening to Magic FM in the office.&nbsp; Meetings galore with Clubs, DDO&#8217;s, CSPs, SSOs and have been to several interesting DDG Meetings already.</p><p>Anyway I must dash got a meeting this evening to attend - highly confidential of course.&nbsp; Bye for now.</p><p>AG</p>
