A trip to Southend to play Essex saw the pattern of Kent batting first continued. Hollie Summers showed patience on a pitch that required just that.

Eventually Kent set Essex a target of 148 runs, Hollie’s 90 not out and 22 not out from Sarah Martins being the main contributors for the loss of only 2 wickets.

In reply Essex stumbled to 103 for 8 with all Kent’s outfield players bowling 3 overs each. The pick of the bowlers were Hollie and her younger sister Georgia Summers both taking 2 wickets each.  A wicket each for Maisy Blackbourn and Zoe Moyler’s 2 run outs made up the 8 wickets.
