Kent Young Cricketers Under 13s win again!
Kent Under 13s travelled to Essex to play their final Group 4 match of the ECB Competition, knowing that a win would hand them the Group 4 Trophy. The match was played at Stansted Hall CC on Friday 20th August. Michael Waller, captain of Kent won the toss and decided to field. Essex made 166 for 8 in 40 overs with Waseem Quereshi top scoring for the home side with 43.
In reply, Kent got off to a slow start losing wickets at crucial moments in the game. But a match winning innings of 80 not out from Piers Richardson in a good partnership with Marcus O’Riordan (34) saw Kent home to victory finishing on 167 for 6 in 37.4 overs.

Kent Under 13s win the ECB Under 13 County Competition Group 4 having played 9 games and winning all of them. Commenting on the match, Manager of the Under 13s Andy Griffiths said “It is a fantastic achievement for the players, coaches and parents. The lads have played 9 games and have won all of them finishing with 18 points. On top of that they also won the Under 13 Taunton Festival. What a season and a proud moment for all involved”.
